The Film Society featured the movie Edge of Tomorrow, a PG-13 rated American science fiction movie from 2014. It takes place in London and Paris, in the year 2020, and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, and Bill Paxton.
In this movie, William Cage, a disobedient major turned private is forced into an invasion of France against an alien race. He dies after being dissolved by an alien’s blood. Surprisingly, he wakes up alive and the day keeps repeating and resetting each time he dies in the battle. He ends up teaming up with Sergeant Rita Vrataski, who herself experienced the same ability, to find and kill the alien’s leader. Will they succeed or will all human life be doomed?
One great thing about this movie is that it’s action-packed and has several intense and awesome moments. Another great thing about this movie is that the CGI on the aliens is very cutting edge and looks very realistic.
I really like the movie, and it’s very intense down to the final scene. I would definitely recommend it to people who like good action and creative CGI.
For the strong action and creative CGI, I give this movie an 8/10.
