They’ve finally made it to the movies! I recently saw Impractical Jokers: The Movie, released on February 21, 2020. It takes place across the USA and is rated PG-13.

In 1994, the four friends that would become known as the Impractical Jokers went to a Paula Abdul concert, ruining it in the process. In the present day, Abdul approaches them, not recognizing them as the people from the concert. She proceeds to invite them to a party in Miami. However, since she only gave them 3 tickets, they have to do what they do best, play hidden-camera challenges on the way to the party throughout several different states. Whoever loses the most challenges doesn’t go to the party. Who will the loser be? Can the Jokers redeem their past?

The television show Impractical Jokers has been a hit since its debut in 2011. With 8 seasons, it has proven popular enough to get a film. The show is a reality program, where the 4 Impractical Jokers, Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr” Murray, Salvatore “Sal” Vulcano, and Joseph “Joe” Gatto, play several different hidden-camera challenges, having to do and say embarrassing things to strangers. If you lose a challenge, you get a thumbs down. Whoever has the most thumbs down at the end of the episode has to endure an embarrassing punishment, while the others watch in amusement. Q is willing to do and say a lot, but his charming attitude can cause him to lose challenges. Murr has the history of most challenges lost, while he’s constantly made fun of by the other Jokers. Sal is afraid of almost everything, including cats, which makes him a favorite to pull pranks on. Joe is known as the fearless one and he’s won the most challenges in the show. All of the 4 Jokers have their strengths and weaknesses. The show also has guest appearances by celebrities, most notably Joey Fatone and Gary Busey. Now, let’s move on to the movie.

The movie feels like an episode of the show, with the Jokers playing several different hidden-camera challenges to determine who the loser will be. There is plenty of fun as the Jokers maintain their comedic style from the show, with hilarious things to do and say. They make us laugh with the number of pranks they pull on each other on the way to Miami. They also manage to have guest celebrity appearances.

Despite the fact that it feels like an episode of the show, it also feels like an actual movie. The Jokers are determined to get to the party and fix their mistakes from years ago. We want to see them succeed, while realizing that one of them will not. One complaint is that I felt it was pretty obvious who the loser was going to be in the end. In addition, I feel that this movie is more for the show’s fans than for someone who has never seen the show. Despite that, the reality TV show stars did manage to make a good movie.

Overall, this is a great movie for Impractical Jokersfans. It keeps the humor of the show, while making an interesting storyline. For non-Joker fans, you might want to wait until it comes out on video.
